Prishtinë, 26 korrik 2013 – Ministrja e Integrimit Evropian, Vlora Çitaku, priti sot në takim Ministrin e punëve të jashtme të Qeverisë Lituaneze, Z. Linas Linkevičius, qeveria e të cilit nga 1 korriku është duke kryesuar me Presidencën e Këshillit të Bashkimit Evropian. Z. Linkevičius ishte i shoqëruar nga delegacioni i përbërë prej Drejtorit Politik, Ministrit fuqiplotë, njëherit Charge d’Affaires i deleguar i Republikës së Lituanisë në Bullgari dhe Kosovë, Shefja e Divizionit të Zgjerimit të BE-së pranë MPJ-së Lituaneze, si dhe Shefja e Divizionit të Zgjerimit të BE-së.
Në takim u diskutua rreth fillimit të negociatave për Marrëveshjen e Stabilizim Asociimit (MSA) dhe për punën e vazhdueshme të institucioneve të Kosovës në kuadër të përgatitjeve për fillimin e negociatave për MSA. Ministrja Çitaku nënvizoj rëndësinë që ka MSA-ja për Kosovën, si mjet i ankorimit të rrugës Evropiane të Kosovës dhe një reforme të qëndrueshme mbarështetërore.
Për sa i përket liberalizimit të vizave, Ministrja Çitaku njoftoi Ministrin Linkevičius për rrjedhën e plotësimit të rekomandimeve të dala nga udhërrëfyesi për liberalizimin e vizave, përmbushjes së pakos legjislative dhe çështjeve përcjellëse për liberalizimin e vizave, bashkëpunimin rajonal dhe përmirësimin e raporteve ndërfqinjësore si kriter për avansim me integrimin Evropain. Ministrja Çitaku potencoj rëndësinë dhe impaktin e drejtpërdrejt që ka procesi i liberalizimit të vizave në jetën e përditshme të qytetarëve të Kosovës.
Nga ana e tijë, Ministri i punëve të jashtme të Qeverisë Lituaneze, Z. Linas Linkevičius tha: “Ne si shtet që jemi duke udhëhequr me Presidencën e Këshillit të Bashkimit Europian, do të mbesim të përkushtuar të përkrahim Kosovën në avancimin e agjendës Evropiane. Dhe se në këtë drejtim Lituania përshëndetë fillimin e negociatave të MSA-së ndërmjet Kosovës dhe Bashkimit Evropian.”
Krejt në fund Ministrja Çitaku, e falemnderoi Ministrin Linkevičius për vizitën dhe shtoi: “ Ne si qeveri, institucione, dhe si shoqëri jemi të përkushtuar në zbatimin e reformave që do ti kontribuojnë avansimit të Kosovës me agjendën Evropiane që njëkohësisht do ti kontribuojnë shtetndërtimit të vendit tonë ”.
