Brussels, 1 June 2018 – Today, in the premises of the European Parliament in Brussels, Minister Hoxha, together with Mrs. Genoveva Ruiz Calavera, Director for Western Balkans within the Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, signed the Financial Agreement IPA 2017. This Agreement, First Part, amounts to EUR 49.4 million, where from this value EUR 48 million will be funded by the European Union, whereas EUR 1.4 million will be co-funded with the Government of Kosovo.
With this Agreement, Kosovo will benefit financial assistance that will be used for advancement of democracy and governance, strengthening rule of law and human rights, environmental protection, climate and energy project, increase of competitiveness and innovation, agriculture and rural development. These funds will also be used to advance education, employment and social policies.
For many years now, Kosovo has benefited from IPA funds and we have to use this assistance to implement reforms and all projects should result in improved welfare of our citizens.
In compliance with dynamics of Kosovo in its path to EU, Ministry of European Union, in cooperation with all state departments, will increase its commitment for the progress of this financial assistance, so the effects of this assistance will be felt by all citizens of Kosovo.
