Paris, 31 May 2018 – During her visit to Paris, Minister Hoxha met with Salvatore Serravalle, Secretary for European Affairs, while the main topics of discussion were Kosovo’s European agenda, reforms being undertaken by our institutions, and visa liberalization.
During the meeting, Minister Hoxha asked for France’s support to Kosovo, pointing out that France has always supported Kosovo through its important decision-making processes. Minister Hoxha assured French officials that Kosovo will continue implementing the SAA and noted that the Republic of Kosovo has reached a consensus on the integration path within the values of the European Union.
Mr Serravalle expressed France’s support for the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries and the support to Kosovo with regard to the reforms and processes that need to be successfully dealt with until the country’s integration.
During her visit to Paris, the Minister also met with Catherine Lalumière, Former Secretary General of the Council of Europe during 1989-1994 & former Minister in the past French Governments. Ms Lalumière was also a member of the European Parliament since 1994 and was re-elected in 1999. She is now Vice-President of the European Movement International, chairing the EU Enlargement Working Group.
Ms Lalumière congratulated Minister Hoxha on the progress marked in Kosovo and offered her support to Kosovo and its decision-makers. She assured the Minister with the readiness to offer her political experience in order to advance with regard to the integration process.
