Office for Economic Criteria and Internal Market
The Office for Economic Criteria and Internal Market is an organisational unit of the Office of the Prime Minister in charge of coordinating implementation of reforms for integration into the European Union in areas within Economic Criteria (which includes the following ones: Existence of a Functioning Market Economy andCapacity to Cope with Competitive Pressure and Market Forces within the Union), as well as in the following negotiation chapters:
Within the aforementioned areas and chapters, the Office of Economic Criteria and Internal Market exercises these functions by aligning policies of the Republic of Kosova with those of the EU in these areas, participating in their drafting and providing professional opinions on their alignment with the requirements of the EU acquisand European standards, monitoring and evaluating their implementation, as well as coordinating the preparation of the main national policy documents for EU integration in these areas and monitoring their implementation.
This office also coordinates the reform dialogue with the EU in these areas and chapters by co-chairing four EU– Kosova Stabilisation and Association subcommittees (SC on Trade, Industry, Customs and Taxation, SC on Internal Market and Competition, SC on Economic and Financial Issues and Statistics, and SC on Innovation, Information Society and Social Policy) and four Sectoral Working Groups for European Integration (SWGEI on Trade, Industry, Customs and Taxation, SWGEI on Internal Market and Competition, SWGEI on Economic and Financial Issues and Statistics, and SWGEI on Innovation, Information Society and Social Policy), as well as by coordinating and providing professional support to their functioning and of EU membership negotiationstructures in these areas and chapters.
The Office for Economic Criteria and Internal Market also prepares regular reports for the European Commission on implementation of EU integration reforms in the aforementioned areas and chapters.
