Minister Hoxha emphasized that illegal migration is a phenomenon continuously declining, and in recent years has been remarkably decreasing, all this thanks to the legislative changes undertaken by Kosovo and other reforms that have strengthened border security.

Minister Hoxha stressed that Kosovo has positive legislation and will to implement international agreements as well as influence on reducing illegal emigration and punishing organized crime. The Minister also emphasized that Kosovo has mechanisms to facilitate repatriation such as the organization of transport, supply with documents, housing, education and employment issues.

The Minister also spoke about the benefits that liberalization brings to the citizens of Kosovo because, having the free movement, our young people will get the best experiences from Schengen countries, and Kosovo, under no circumstances, poses any risk to migration.

Ms. Edtstadler stressed that empowering the rule of law, comprehensive reforms and institutional seriousness to implement European agendas are homework to Kosovo’s institutions, expressing optimism that Kosovo will, successfully, overcome the challenge of the integration process, in particular for rapid visa liberalization.
