The drafting of Single Sector Pipeline Projects is an official requirement of European Commission aiming to identify infrastructure strategic relevance projects in sectors of transport, environment, energy and social sectors.
Kosovo still has large needs in terms of advancing road and railway, water supply, waste water treatment, energy supply sustainability, modernization of health and other infrastructure issues.
The purpose of drafting this Single Sector Pipeline Projects is to map out all infrastructure projects that will support economic and social development of Kosovo in next decades, subsequently negotiating the financing of the projects with International Financial Institutions and donors.
During July this year, the National Investment Committee decided to finalize the Single Sector Pipeline Projects by November 15th. In this respect, the Ministry of Integration prepared the methodology on selection and prioritizations of infrastructure projects.
During this three day projects, the participants learned more on methodology as well as procedures for identification of priorities until the designing of respective project.
At the opening of this workshop, deputy Minister, Mr. Rmadan Ilazi, outlined the political relevance of Berlin Process and its link with Single Sector Pipeline Projects. Deputy Minister Ilazi, informed participants on future steps in the light of Single Sector Pipeline Projects, stating that; starting from October 1 we shall finalize the preparations for Project Identification Forms, whereas, by November 1, the Strategic Relevance Assessment of each project shall be finalized.
