The European Sunday in Mitrovica

July 27, 2015

Mitrovica, 26 Jyly 2015 – Deputy Minister of European Integration, Mr. Ramadan Ilazi participated on Sunday in a debate with young Albanian and Serbian community in Mitrovica organized by Youth Center “Diakonie”, where they discussed on the Kosovo’s progress and challenges in the integration process with the focus on the ways of greater involvement of young people in this process.

“The process of European integration has transformed the region of the Balkans, both through the promotion of economic development reforms and democratic functioning of public institutions, as well as by creating a process for normalization of relations between the nations of the region”, said Mr. Ilazi.

During this debate, many young people were interested in the visa liberalization process between Kosovo and the EU and in this regard the Deputy Minister pointed out that since 2012 when the dialogue on visa liberalization started, an extraordinary progress has been made in fulfilling the set conditions, and that we are very close to concluding the process.

“Fulfilling the set conditions has helped our country to progress, and the progress in the visa liberalization, means progress in the European integration. There is an increased mobilization of all Kosovo institutions, and it seems that there is also sufficient willingness in the European Union to turn this year into the European year for our country”, added Mr. Ilazi.
