Prishtina, 20 July 2015 – Representatives of technical working groups on the visa liberalisation process from all relevant institutions today discussed the work of the EC visa liberalisation assessment mission, whose experts stayed in Kosovo from 13 to 17 July, and concluded that the organisation of the mission was successful.
Regardless of the fulfilment of the general criteria, it was concluded that the commitment of the institutions must continue at the same level. Although a small number of criteria require more work in order to be finally completed, a number of them require consistent implementation.
On this occasion, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry for European Integration, Mr. Ramadan Ilazi, extended his gratitude to all institutional representatives and congratulated them on their cooperation with the assessment mission experts. Moreover, Mr. Ilazi reiterated that this assessment mission is of vital importance, because the report that is to be drafted by the experts will open the path towards completing the visa liberalization process.
Whereas, Mr. Fisnik Rexhepi, Senior Political Advisor of the Minister for European Integration, and also the Technical Coordinator of the liberalisation process, announced that the experts conducted more than 50 meetings and field visits, which included more than 100 institutional representatives, whereby the achievements in addressing the technical criteria were presented to, and assessed by the experts.
The Ministry for European Integration, jointly with other institutions, will continue its commitment to conclude the visa liberalisation process within 2015.
