Minister Hoxha called for maximal engagement towards EU projects implementation

Prishtina, 25 June 2018 – An initiating meeting took place today for processing national programs for Kosovo, namely IPA 2019 and IPA 2020 funded by European Union. This meeting was attended by the Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, Heads of EU Office, diplomats and heads of executive institutions of the Government of Kosovo.

 

In the official opening it was presented the common approach to be followed by the European Union Office in Kosovo and Ministry of European Integration, as coordinator from Kosovo side, with regards to deadlines of programming process and sectors to be supported by these programs.

 

Minister Hoxha, in the capacity of the National Coordinator for IPA, stated that “Our purpose is to implement, starting from now, the whole programming process of IPA 2019 and IPA 2020 by the middle of next year, so then we will have time to focus on the planning phase for the new instrument to be developed for the new EU financial period 2021-2027”.

 

Minister stated that it expects from the representatives of EU Office to inform us on financial ceilings of 2019 and 2020 programs, deadlines to submit requests for funding to EU, sectors to be funded, as well as modalities of implementation of these projects in these sectors.

 

“Minister received a number of proposals from our institutions and we informed in advance the EU Office of these requests. Starting from today, a dialogue will begin between institutions of Kosovo and EU with regards to the best ideas to be supported, based on the financial ceilings set by EU. Therefore, I invite representatives of Kosovo institutions to present proposals for their projects and their most important priorities”, stated Minister Hoxha.

 

The proposals and projects expected to be funded by EU through IPA 2019, IPA 2020 were presented following the opening remark of Minister Hoxha.
