Brussels, 26 June 2018 – Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, signed in Brussels the agreement with the program “Europe for Citizens” with Mrs. Paraskevi Michou, Director-General for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship of European Commission. The program amounts to EUR 187 million.
According to Minister Dhurata Hoxha, the program will be very welcomed for our youth, because it will raise awareness on history and common European values, encourage the democratic participation of citizens at EU level by developing citizens’ understanding for EU policy-making processes and promoting the opportunity for social and inter-cultural engagement and volunteerism at EU level.
Minister Hoxha stated that specific priorities are “Democratic Engagement and Citizen Participation” as a field that includes the Debating the Future of Europe and challenging Euroscepticism, Promoting solidarity in times of crisis, Fostering intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding and combating the stigmatisation of migrants and minority groups and the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
The agreement is a milestone in integration process.
