Minister Çollaku supports the youth of Kosovo who will be part of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office

Prishtina, 21 June 2016 – The Ministry of European Integration in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of France and the Kosovo Youth Centres’ Network, held today the conference on the topic “EU integration and youth cooperation – from regional to European perspective”, with the aim to discuss about the youth cooperation and participation in the European integration process.

This conference precedes the Paris Summit which will be held on July 4th, where will be officially launched the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO), which will increase the movement of youth between the Western Balkan countries with the aim of promoting mutual understanding, exchange and cooperation between the young people who promote European values.

On this occasion, the Minister of European Integration, Mr. Bekim Çollaku, explained that the idea for deepening the communication and cooperation of societies of Western Balkan countries through the establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office based on the successful French-German model derives from the following summit of Vienna, which was held last year.

“In this regard, I offer my full support to Kosovo representatives who will be part of the Office and I encourage my colleagues, ministers from the region to provide same support for their representatives in order to succeed with this initiative and serve as a model of cooperation in the region”, stated Minister Çollaku.

Part of the discussion panel in this conference was the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Culture, Youth and Sport, Mr. Kujtim Shala, the Ambassador of the Republic of France in Kosovo, Ms. Maryse Daviet, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kosovo, Ms. Angelika Viets, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria in Kosovo, Mr. Gernot Pfandler, Head of Political Section at the EU Office in Kosovo, Mr. Thomas Gnocchi and Ms. Krenare Gashi, Executive Director of the Kosovo Youth Centres’ Network.
