Prishtina 6 April 2016 – Minister of European Integration, Mr. Bekim Çollaku, hosted today in a meeting Mr. Ernst Reichel, the Special Envoy for Western Balkans, Turkey and EFTA countries in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, where they discussed on the visa liberalization process for Kosovo citizens and developments in the country. Initially, minister Çollaku informed the Ambassador on all steps taken within this process, highlighting that all criteria have been met and now Kosovo is in decisive moments regarding this process. As the leader of this process, minister Çollaku highlighted that based on the work carried out, it is expected a merit decision whereby Kosovo citizens will be able to travel without visas in the countries of Schengen Area. He also expressed his belief that such a decision will be supported by European Union countries. On the other hand, the Special Envoy for Western Balkans, Turkey and EFTA countries in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Mr. Ernst Reichel, appreciated the engagement of Kosovo institutions in meeting the criteria for visa liberalization and highlighted that the Germany will continue to provide its support in this process.
