European diplomats support the visa liberalization process for Kosovo citizens

Prishtina, 5 April 2016 – Minister of European Integration hosted today in separate meetings the Ambassador of Netherlands in Kosovo, Gerrie Willems, Ambassador of Italy, Andreas Ferrarese and Ambassador of Hungary, Laszlo Markusz, with whom he discussed about visa liberalization process for Kosovo citizens.

During the meetings with European diplomats, Minister Çollaku appraised the support provided so far and expressed his belief that the support of these countries will continue at this stage as well when we are approaching the decision regarding the visa liberalization.

“We have demonstrated the commitment in this process by fulfilling all the defined obligations. I am convinced that our work will be properly assessed and will result with a meritorious decision that would enable visa-free movement for our citizens in the Schengen Area. As the head of this process I believe that we will have the support of the friendly countries to successfully conclude this matter as soon as possible”, stated Minister Çollaku during these meetings.

On the other hand, the Ambassadors expressed the willingness of their countries to continue to support Kosovo’s European agenda, especially regarding visa liberalization process. –
