On her side, Minister Çitaku gave an overview of the projects that were implemented so far and stressed the importance that some of them aimed had at the advancement of society and improving the lives of the citizens of Kosovo. Minister expressed the gratitude for the support of the Swedish people and Swedish Government to help Kosovo through SIDA as well as other direct projects.
Among others Minister Çitaku stated that “Sweden in recent years has supported many important processes in Kosovo, such as investments in forestry, education and environment. Kosovo, with international partners, in recent years has consolidated the foundations of economic development by building independent institutions, strengthening the rule of law institutions and by investing in energy, education, agriculture and road infrastructure.”.
On the other hand Mrs.Charlotte Petri Gornitzka General Director of SIDA on this occasion stated” I am very pleased that the Swedish Development Cooperation has helped Kosovo’s efforts for more successful integration into the European Union. Sweden has a long-term commitment to Kosovo and is in the process of drafting a strategy for development cooperation for the next seven years”.
In the end, Minister Çitaku expressed her satisfaction with SIDA`s contribution provided so far to the citizens of Kosovo, and she has pledged as it was until now, to provide full partnership in the upcoming period in order that the Swedish investment to be even more successful in the upcoming period.
