During the meeting, Minister Çitaku discussed with Ambassador Ferrarese regarding the current situation in Kosovo, Kosovo`s recent developments in international arena and the process of Kosovo’s EU Integration.
Special focus of the meeting was the continuity of negotiations for a Stabilisation and Association Agreement between Kosovo and EU, issues about visa liberalization, and the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
On this occasion, Minister Çitaku stressed the importance of commitment and active approach of Italian government towards the advancement of the entire region, and particularly Kosovo, in the European agenda.
Minister Çitaku also stressed the importance of intensifying cooperation between our two countries in order to advance our mutual interests, but also to contribute in advancement of the entire region.
Minister Çitaku stated: “The Government of Kosovo, treats European Integration as the process of internal reform, in institutional and as well as social aspect”.
On this occasion, Ambassador Ferrarese on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Emma Bonino, submitted to the Minister Çitaku the invitation to be the main presenter at the second edition of the Women`s School in Diplomacy, which will be held from 2nd to 8th March in Rome and Milan, Italy. Minister Çitaku is invited to contribute to the debate in order to increase women’s approach in international career, by sharing with them her experience with the challenges that emerge in transition period.
Also at the meeting ambassador Ferrarese emphasized the excellent relations between Italy and Kosovo, and expressed the willingness to contribute even more in developing this cooperation, such as socio-economic and social cooperation, as well as in international subjectivity of the Republic of Kosovo.
