Minister Çitaku stressed once again the commitment of the Kosovo Government to create the best possible conditions for all communities in Kosovo. She declared that she is working with increased intensity so as the integration and access to education of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities be more effective and bring results to the entire community as well as the entire society.
Within this engagement, it have been organized many meetings and open discussions with representatives of NGOs which are active in the field of supporting the integration of communities that needs additional support, aiming to assess the state of play and to take appropriate steps based on the identified findings.
Minister Çitaku stated: “Education in Kosovo is a guaranteed right by the law, and an obligation for each parent to enable children access to education. Moreover, children’s education is also considered as the key to a bright future by integration and social inclusion of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians communities in Kosovo society. “
Minister Çitaku added that: “Responsible educational institutions have proven a strong commitment on achieving the goals set forth for the integration of these three communities.”
Representatives of the Roma Education Fund, Szilvia Pallghy and Marius Taba, sought support from the Ministry of Integration and, in view of that, Minister Çitaku pledged commitment not only by the Ministry that she runs, but has also promised support from the Government of the Republic of Kosovo. At the same time, Minister Çitaku is also chairing the Inter-institutional Steering Committee for the Integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities.
