Prishtina, 13 January 2017 – Deputy Minister for European Integration, Mrs. Anila Statovci-Demaj, hosted the newly appointed Ambassador of Norway to Kosovo, H.E Per Strand Sjaastad.
Deputy Minister Statovci-Demaj welcomed the Ambassador Sjaastad, by extending her gratitude for the support that Norway provided to Kosovo in its state-building and the integration into the European Union processes, and expressed her belief that this support will be reconfirmed in the integration process for Kosovo citizens. Also, Deputy Minister Statovci-Demaj informed the Ambassador Sjaastad on the European Reform Agenda with focus on the implementation of the obligations deriving from the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
On his part, Ambassador Sjaastad confirmed readiness of Norwegian Government to continue cooperation with Kosovo and further strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries. On this occasion Ambassador Sjaatstad showed readiness of Government of Norway for financial assistance to fund various programs that Kosovo shall implement in light of SAA, and in its efforts to sector wide development and reform.
Both interlocutors concluded that despite internal challenges faced by the European Union, the European perspective of the Western Balkans remains steadfast, as it was confirmed by all the leaders of European Union member states.
