Prishtina, 18 January 2017 – The Deputy Minister of European Integration, Mrs. Anila Statovci-Demaj received today a delegation from Austria consisting of the Austrian Ambassador in Kosovo, Mr. Gernot Pfandler, the Austrian Deputy Ambassador, Ms. Vera Fuchs and Head of ADA (Austrian Development Agency) in Kosovo, Mr. Gunther Zimmer. She discussed with the delegation about the joint work done so far, and the possibilities of furthering the cooperation with the Austrian Government and ADA in the future.
At the meeting they discussed about deepening the cooperation between the two countries in the context of the European integration process, where the Deputy Minister stressed the importance of successful implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, as well as of the finalization of the visa liberalization process.
In addition, from the bilateral aspect, the parties at the meeting discussed about the development of cooperation between the Kosovo-Austria Friendship Association and the wonderful work that is being done in terms of approximation of our two peoples and the development of economic cooperation for the good of our citizens. On this occasion, Deputy Minister Statovci-Demaj stressed that Kosovo appreciates the support of Austria and considers Austria among the main friends of Kosovo in the international arena.
The Deputy Minister expressed the willingness of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to strengthen the cooperation with Austria in the interest of Kosovo’s development and approximation to the European Union. The Austrian Ambassador in Kosovo, Mr. Gernot Pfandler confirmed to the Deputy Minister the continued support of Austria for the European perspective of Kosovo. He also congratulated her for the appointment as Deputy Minister in the Ministry for European Integration and promised to support her in this post.
