On 19-21 September, a delegation from the Republic of Kosovo stayed in Latvia, where it held meetings with representatives from Latvian institutions. The purpose of the visit was to obtain information about the Latvian experience in the management of EU funds in the period before and after EU membership.
As part of the delegation led by The Office of Prime Minister, representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development and the Ministry of Local Government Administration participated, as well as representatives from the technical assistance project, funded from the EU, who supported the organization of this visit.
The participants from Kosovo got acquainted in particular with the experiences of the Central Funding and Contracting Agency that manages EU funds in Latvia. Also, meetings were held with representatives from the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments, the Audit Authority of Latvia and the Latvian Rural Support Service. Also, a project financed by EU funds in the capital Riga was also closely observed.
During the visit, it was made possible to highlight the specific experiences from which the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo can benefit, which can be obtained through technical assistance projects as well as EU instruments dedicated for this purpose, such as Twinning and TAIEX.
