Coordination of donors in the field of environment was discussed

The purpose of this meeting was the presentation of legislative amendments during 2012 in the environmental sector, information on important activities in certain areas that have happened during this year, such as: creation of the environmental fund, protection of rivers, transposition of EU directives in the related legislation on the field of construction and housing and its implementation, implementation of the legislation on special protected areas- management plan for the historic center of Prizen and other areas, as well as the presentation of priorities which require funding by donors in the above mentioned areas. Officials from the health sector informed regarding the latest developments in this sector, with particular emphasis on the public health.

Donors presented their new activities, respectively projects which will begin in 2013 and pledged to continue with their support in close collaboration with institutions.

In the meeting it was also discussed regarding the strengths and weaknesses that have occurred so far in the sectorial and sub sectorial working groups.  In this regard, donors urged to continue with the regular meetings of sectorial and sub-sectorial working groups.  Meanwhile, MESP, MoH, MEI ensured all the donors that the mechanism for donor coordination will be respected by all and all the encountered weaknesses will be improved.

With the holding of this meeting, the second round of sectorial working groups meetings, for 2012 begun, where these meeting intend to inform the donor community regarding the developments which have occurred in each sector during 2012 as well as the disclosure of priorities that require donor support, for 2013 onwards.
