Towards the conclusion of negotiations for SAA

During the meeting it was confirmed the substantial progress towards the completion of the negotiation of the Stabilization and Association and agreed for the next steps towards the conclusion of the official negotiation process and initialization of the agreement. In particular, they discussed preparations for the final meeting of both chief negotiators who will mark the official completion of the negotiation process.

Commissioner and Ministers also discussed the progress in the process of visa liberalization, with particular focus on the results of the appraisal missions as well as operations of our institutions within implementation of recent recommendations arising from the European Commission assessment missions.

In the framework of the implementation of reforms envisaged  by mid- term criteria for Stabilisation and Association Agreement, ministers informed the Commissioner on progress made within the eight areas identified in the Feasibility Study, with particular focus on electoral reform, rule of law and reform of public administration.
