The United States will stand by Kosovo in the process of EU integration

Main topic of these meetings was Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integration and the dialogue for normalizing relations with Serbia.

“Kosovo will fulfil all obligations in context of European integration. Short-term requirements will be fulfilled in record time. But, integration process as much as is technical process is political process also. Kosovo counts in USA support in its Integration processes” said minister Çitaku.

“Road to the EU will require more reforms. Reforms are not always popular, and often require no easy decisions, but we are convinced that this is the only way forward. It is the last moment to seal the completion of the political transition and to concentrate on the reforms and development” stated minister Çitaku.

While, Mr. Çollaku stated that: “The process of normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is essential for the stability, peace, and a prerequisite for further Euro-Atlantic integration. We will be responsive in meeting our obligations. The role, support and direct involvement of the U.S.A in this context is vital to the success and credibility of the dialogue”.

On the other hand Mr.Gordon assured Minister Çitaku and Mr. Çollaku that the United States strongly supports the independence and territorial integrity of Kosovo.

“Kosovo’s territorial integrity and its sovereignty are not and will not be questioned. Kosovo can count on the unconditional support of the United States in the process of dialogue with Serbia on its path towards Euro-Atlantic, “said Mr. Gordon
