Sweden confirms its support for Kosovo’ European path

Minister Ohlsson expressed the commitment of the Sweden Government for the Kosovo’s European agenda, and in this direction Sweden supports beginning of the SAA negotiations between Kosovo and European Union. Minister Ohlsson appealed to Kosovo institutions to continue intensive work in the fulfilment of the roadmap criteria and at the same time expressed Sweden’s attitude that after the fulfilment of the criteria, Kosovo will have strong support of Sweden within this process. Minister Ohlsson congratulated Kosovo institutions for the achieved agreements in the field of dialogue Prishtina-Belgrade.

Minister Çitaku, also said that “we as a government, institutions and society are committed for implementation of the reforms that will sent Kosovo from the waiting room, to the room of negotiation with European Union”.

From her side Swedish Minister, Ohlsson said that “Kosovo is part of the European family and together we should do everything in order to promote Kosovo integration in the European Union. Swedish government has been and remains present to help Kosovo in all fields, and of the same importance is also advancement with European agenda, therefore, we remain committed to continue with this. We are informed that a very good job is done in this process and should be continued at this pace by undertaking all necessary reforms so the process could continue with its pace, and for this I have taken confirmation from Minister Çitaku that this is being realised. In addition, I think that the issue of Visa Liberalisation is on the right track and I believe that very soon we will achieve towards this solution.

Minister Çitaku among other thanked Minister Ohlsson for the support of the Swedish Government and people for the development of the country and democratic institutions of our country.
