Sweden allocates around 70 million Euros within the cooperation agreement with Kosovo

Prishtina, 16 October 2015 – A cooperation agreement is reached between the Republic of Kosovo and Sweden, which aims the enhancement of cooperation between the two countries in terms of the programs provided by Sweden as part of its assistance for Kosovo.

Minister of European Integration, Mr. Bekim Çollaku today signed the agreement that reaches the amount of 70 million Euros, and announced that this agreement will be followed by other agreements with the line institutions for implementation of projects in various sectors.

Sweden is represented in this agreement by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), whereas it was signed by the Head of Mission of the Embassy of Sweden in Kosovo, Mr. Henrik Nilsson.

During the signing ceremony, Minister Çollaku emphasized that the “Focus of the agreement will be in economic integration with EU and in development of a functioning market economy, in strengthening the democracy, enhanced respect for human rights and the rule of law and in better environment and in higher sustainability from the environment impact and in climate changes”.

This framework agreement identifies the key sectors on which will be focused the Swedish development assistance in Kosovo over the period 2014-2020.
