Mr. Delawie supports Minister Hoxha on her work toward European integration

Prishtina, 20 September 2017 – Minister of European Integration, Ms. Dhurata Hoxha, today met with the U.S Ambassador to Kosovo, Mr. Greg Delawie, with whom she discussed Kosovo’s path toward European integration.

Minister Hoxha informed Ambassador Delawie regarding current processes under the European Reform Agenda, and key priorities expected to be accomplished during this period.

Minister Hoxha and Ambassador Delawie praised the close cooperation between the two governments, particularly with the Ministry of European Integration, taking into account that European integration is a horizontal process that correlates to all developments within the country, thereby contributing to good governance, rule of law and fighting of corruption.

Minister Hoxha expressed the commitment of the Government of Kosovo to further enhance cooperation with the U.S Government, and have efficient coordination of projects between the Government of Kosovo, the EU and the U.S. Government, as one of the largest contributors to the rapid development of our country, considering that proper coordination also contributes to successful accomplishment of Kosovo institution’s priorities.

On the other hand, Ambassador Delawie congratulated Minister Hoxha on her new assignment, and committed to continue the already established cooperation in order to contribute to the strengthening of a democratic country, and its path toward integration in the European family.

Moreover, Ambassador Delawie emphasized that the U.S. remains committed to help Kosovo, and the Balkan region as a whole, in this process, considering that a united Europe contributes to peace and development.
