In this panel were debated challenges and opportunities of the region for the development and the prospect of EU membership process through transformation and a roadmap having a role to the civil society as well. In this panel, Minister Çollaku was together with the former Secretary of the MFA of Austria and Chief Negotiator for Kosovo Albert Rohan (former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria and Deputy of Martti Ahtisaari, Special Envoy for the future status process for Kosovo) Paul Lendval, publicist, Jan Zielonka, a professor from the University of Oxford and Oskar Mencer, the director of a software company and a professor at Imperial College London.
In his appearance before the audience, comprised of European opinion makers, editors, politicians and diplomats, Minister Çollaku focused on shedding light on the role of Kosovo in the process of dialogue with Serbia and the positive effect it has in the region, the need to accelerate the Euro-Atlantic integration of Kosovo as the best way to combat political and religious extremism and long-term challenges in the region of Southeast Europe related to the challenges that the entire EU faced with the global financial crisis.
