Prishtina, 23 January 2018 – The inclusion of Kosovo in the Enlargement Strategy, which is expected to be published by the European Union in February of this year, will be clearly defined with the deadlines and requirements from us, by specifying with concrete steps our participation in this process, emphasized the Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, in a meeting with Mr. Stenström.
The Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha thanked Mr. Oscar Stenström, the Secretary of State, responsible for EU Affairs and Trade of Sweden, for the support in the process of Kosovo’s integration into international institutions and the European Union.
The inclusion of Kosovo in the Enlargement Strategy that is expected to be published by the European Union in February of this year, Minister Hoxha demanded to clearly define the deadlines and requirements from us, by specifying with concrete steps our participation in this process, emphasized Minister Hoxha at the meeting with Mr. Stenström, adding that “we will carry out our duties”.
”We will carry out our duties. We will continue to fight corruption, make the reforms that are required as part of the integration process. Special attention will be paid to the priorities of the European Reform Agenda and implementation of SAA. Therefore, we consider the support of Sweden in every process as extremely important and we expect that the EU will reconfirm the European perspective of Kosovo and its inclusion in the enlargement plans”, stated Minister Hoxha.
Minister Hoxha stressed that Sweden was and continues to be an example for human rights and democracy, so Kosovo can benefit a lot from the experiences of the Swedish state.
The Secretary of State, Mr. Stenström, stressed that Sweden remains committed to supporting the European integration path of Kosovo and good neighborly relations. Furthermore, he stressed that Kosovo is an independent, sovereign state, and that its integration into the European family is an unstoppable process, offering full support to the processes that Kosovo is going through.
