Prishtina, 10 November 2017 – The Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, attended in the promotion of the European Reform Agenda Report, drafted by the Balkans Policy Research Group (BPRG) research group, an event that was attended by Prime Minister Haradinaj, EU Ambassador to Kosovo, Natalya Apostolova, by Ministers and experts and persons of institutions responsible for the integration process.
In her speech, Minister Hoxha appreciated the BPRG organization for the work done in drafting this progress report on the European Reform Agenda and for the recommendations given for the future steps. I welcome the work of civil society with such reports, because this helps institutions to be able to follow the progress achieved, said Minister Hoxha. The integration process obviously needs more active involvement of the civil society.
“In the report published today, one of the first recommendations was also setting of priorities for 2018”, said Minister Hoxha, and noted intensive work with the Office of the Prime Minister to accelerate integration processes and to intensify the work of institutions.
“The European integration process remains one of the main goals of the foreign policy of the Republic of Kosovo. The goal of our society, and consequently our duty as political representatives, remains the continuation of democratic consolidation, increasing the level of the rule of law and respecting human rights, as well as establishment of a functional market economy. We consider European values as ours, and our journey is not complete if we don’t become part of the European family”, said Minister Hoxha.
“We must show commitment and seriousness in the implementation of priorities, by promoting good governance and empowering the rule of law, protecting competitiveness, improving the investment climate, and by advancing employment and higher education policies. The European Reform Agenda will be the basic document that will ensure the required reforms and consequently the implementation of certain priorities”, said Minister Hoxha, adding that the process of European integration requires the contribution of all of us, including of the citizens of Kosovo, so let’s work together on our path to the European family.
