Prishtina, 10 November 2017 – Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, emphasized at the meeting of the Government that following the request of Prime Minister Haradinaj, the Ministry of European Integration has reviewed the key priorities for the European integration process for 2018. This review of priorities, according to Minister Hoxha is based in the European Reform Agenda within the European Agenda.
“We should reflect on this document and create a political platform to start negotiations with the European Commission on advancing Kosovo’s European agenda towards candidate status, based on a reform planning that we can accomplish in 2018”, said Minister Hoxha.
The Ministry of European Integration has previously distributed a document for comments, and the comments were discussed and integrated within the document.
The minister stressed that the reforms will increase the dynamics during 2018, but at the same time we will invite Brussels to reflect on further advancement of Kosovo in the integration process. A visit from Brussels is expected to be conducted in December, where it will be discussed the operationalization of priorities and their implementation in accordance with the arrangements with activities for 2018.
“Our goal is that Prime Minister Haradinaj and Commissioner Hahn to launch the 2018 priorities in the framework of the upcoming meeting of the High Level Dialogue Kosovo-EU in early 2018”, said Minister Dhurata Hoxha.
Minister Hoxha stated that this dynamics and new commitment of Kosovo institutions for 2018, will create a new political momentum in Kosovo and in Brussels, where Kosovo can have good chances for commencing a concrete discourse towards candidate status.
“Our progress will be measured not based on documents we draft and launch, but based on concrete results that we will be able to demonstrate over the next 12 months”, said Minister Hoxha.
