Rome, 14 November 2018 – The Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, is staying for an official visit in Italy, where she met Mr. Nicola Molteni, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, whereby she discussed about deepening the bilateral cooperation and about visa liberalization for Kosovo.
In the meeting with Mr. Molteni, Minister Hoxha emphasized the commitment of the Republic of Kosovo for successfully fulfilling the 95 conditions for liberalization and the expectation to have the anticipated result after fulfilling the criteria, which is visa liberalization for our citizens.
”Legal emigration has been removed from the agenda of our institutions as, since 2015, this phenomenon has decreased to the lowest values, to the point where Kosovo citizens are not even among the top 30 countries for asylum applications to the EU countries. The management of asylum in the country as well as repatriation is something that should be praised because Kosovo is not only implementing the international agreements but also the recommendations deriving from these agreements”, stated Minister Hoxha.
The Minister requested support from Deputy Minister Molteni regarding the next meeting of the Council of Ministers, to enable the free movement of our citizens.
Minister Hoxha highly praised the support from Italy but she stated that we extremely need this support in the Council of Ministers as well, in order for Kosovo citizens to move freely, thus they will be closer to, and be a part of, integration values, in the light of Euro-Atlantic integration process.
