March 19, 2018

Prishtina, 19 March 2018 – Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, hosted today in a meeting the Japanese Ambassador to Austria, non-resident in Kosovo, Kiyoshi Koinuma, as well as the Secretary of Japanese Embassy, Mitsunori Ogasawara. They discussed about Euro-Atlantic integration process.

During the meeting with Ambassador Koinuma, Minister Hoxha stated the importance of SAA implementation, legal and economic reforms, and rule of law.

“Japanese support for our country is very valuable as they strongly support the European integration process, in particular the implementation of Stabilisation and Association Agreement and European Reform Agenda”, stated Minister Hoxha, adding that we are grateful and thankful for this.

Japanese Ambassador, Mr. Kiyoshi Koinuma, praised the positive developments and processes in the country, in particular reforms that will be essential in moving forward the integration process, strengthening the rule of law, as well as increasing citizen welfare.

As Ambassador Koinuma stated, the cooperation will be stronger in the framework of deepening the interstate cooperation as Japan is expected to open its embassy in the Republic of Kosovo, with a special focus on economic development, which, as Minister Hoxhaj stated, is essential for current interstate processes.
