Prishtina, 24 April 2018 – The Minister of European Integration, Ms. Dhurata Hoxha hosted the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kosovo, Mr. Chistian Heldt, with whom she discussed the European Commission’s Country Report, the integration process as well as achievements and the challenges of the process.
Minister Hoxha, emphasised that the country report is objective and instructive, inclusive in its sector approach, along with achievements and the integration process challenges.
“Recognition of achievements in the report does not mean we will stop. There are remarks in the report that we will soon address together with the Prime Minister. No one is relieved of this responsibility, not the executive institutions, lawmakers, judiciary, NGOs, media or opinion makers. Additionally, we need the support of our friends so that visa liberalization is achieved as faster as possible. Other duties margining from the report are our priority, such as the SAA, European Reform Agenda and Economic Reforms”, stated Minister Hoxha.
Whereas, Ambassador Heldt emphasised that Germany is attentively monitoring developments in Kosovo, while providing strong support to the integration process and Kosovo’s European perspective.
Ambassador Held stated that the special sectors, mentioned in the report, such as combating organized crime and corruption, must be consistent, which will be achieved through reforms that accelerate Kosovo’s integration process, and by implementing them with determination.
During the meeting with the German Ambassador Heldt, the Minister also discussed the issue of national consensus on the integration process, as there is no alternative to our future, which is related to the European Union and its democratic values.
