Minister Çollaku received the Latvia non-resident Ambassador in Kosovo

Prishtina, 23 January 2015 – Minister of European Integration Mr. Bekim Çollaku hosted in an introductory meeting the Latvia non-resident Ambassador in Kosovo, Mr. Alberts Sarkanis.

Minister Çollaku discussed with  Ambassador Sarkanis,  the latest developments in the country, as well as the advancement of Kosovo`s European agenda.

Çollaku Minister expressed gratitude on behalf of the citizens and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to the support that Latvia provided, especially in these last fourteen years, which is continuing to give now for a democratic development of Kosovo as well as in relation to the continued support in European integration process of our country.

Furthermore, Minister Çollaku stressed that Kosovo has been fully committed to meet all criteria required and we are excepting that the signing of the Stabilization and Association shall take place in the envisaged period. In addition, Kosovo implemented the Visa Liberalization Roadmap and we expect the European Union to concretize this commitment towards Kosovo by lifting the visa regime as soon as possible.

 

On his behalf, Ambassador Sarkanis disclosed Latvia`s priority as the Head of the Presidency of Council of the European Union, and also revealed the Presidency position in relation to the enlargement policies and the deepening of cooperation with Kosovo during this period.
