Initially, Minister Çollaku expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for the visit and continuous support that United States provided to the Republic of Kosovo, especially the continuous support in relation to institutional capacity building of the Republic of Kosovo and undertaking reforms in the path towards Euro-Atlantic integrations.
Minister Çollaku and Ambassador Jacobson spoke about the commitment of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo`s towards meeting the criteria in the context of the European agenda. Both interlocutors agreed that Kosovo has made progress on this path, and it is expected the signing of the SAA, as the first contractual agreement between Kosovo and the European Union, an agreement which strongly brings forward Kosovo`s aspirations for EU membership.
“Kosovo’s European agenda is an extremely significant pillar and the Government’s priority, we are undertaking the necessary reforms in order to advance in this process by signing the SAA and ensure visa free movement for our citizens in Schengen Area Member States” stated Minister Çollaku. Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson, congratulating the minister for taking the office, stressed that the US will continue to support Kosovo towards achieving its strategic goals to be part of Euro-Atlantic family.
