Ms. Çitaku called for every possible form of mutual cooperation so that the challenges faced by the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians communities living in Kosovo, are overcome together.
Minister Çitaku, at the beginning of her speech, informed the participants about the commitment of the ministry she leads, but also of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, regarding full integration of these communities into society. “As part of this commitment, we have organized two meetings, open discussions, with representatives of NGOs who are active in supporting the integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities, with the goal of assessing the current situation and take the most appropriate actions for the stage we are in – through my role as Chair of the Inter-Institutional Steering Committee for the Implementation of the Strategy for Integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities”, added Mrs. Çitaku.
At the end of this visit it was said that the institutions responsible, in close cooperation with members of this three communities and civil society organizations, should make greater efforts to overcome these difficulties, for their full integration in our society.
