Minister Çitaku met the Mayor`s of Deçan, Junik and Gjakova, and discusses on the harmonization of the joint European agenda

In today`s agenda visits to the Municipality of Deçan, Junik and Gjakova were conducted. Minister Çitaku was hosted by the mayors of respective municipalities and conferred the same messages and discussed on the possibilities of advancing coordination and cooperation between central and local level institutions regarding recommendations and obligations emerging from the European Commission reports. Particular emphasis was placed upon the criteria set to advance with the agenda of European Integration and Visa Liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo.

In these separate meetings, was also discussed the increase of cooperation on the process of reintegrating repatriated persons, treatment of irregular migration phenomenon, as well as the possibilities of applying for projects within the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance  (IPA). At the same time, a topic of these meeting were the modalities for accommodation, in the municipal administration, of the scholars from the “Young Cells Scheme”, a project in cooperation with the Ministry of European Integration and the European Commission.

As in the past meetings, Minister Çitaku informed, in details, the Mayors regarding the negotiations of Stabilization and Association Agreement,  as well as in general regarding developments in the European agenda, after her visit to Brussels where she met with high officials of the European Commission, respectively Commissioner Fyle and other officials.

Also, minister Çitaku promised the assistance of the ministry in order to cope with challenges of repatriating the citizens in their municipalities, and will commit in governmental level to improve legal conditions for economic development, and within this for creating a better climate for investors.
