Prishtina, 2 March 2017 – The Minister of European Integration, Mimoza Ahmetaj, received today in a meeting the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Kosovo, Mr. Qemal Minxhozi, with whom she discussed on strengthening the cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Albania.
They discussed in more detail advancement of both countries with the European agenda, and increasing of the promotion of state-building achievements in Kosovo.
It is also discussed the issue of regional cooperation between the Western Balkans countries, as this is one of the most prevalent topics within the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
Minister Ahmetaj thanked the Ambassador Minxhozi for the visit and cooperation, and expressed her gratitude for Albania, for the vital contribution and continuous support that has given to the Republic of Kosovo, especially the continued diplomatic support.
Minister Ahmetaj also informed the Ambassador about the objectives of the Ministry in the process of European integration, current developments through which are undergoing the institutions and Kosovo society in the implementation of the SAA, the processes related to Kosovo’s European agenda, by development of geostrategic policies, developments in the region, all the way to free movement of Kosovo citizens, etc.
The Albanian ambassador, Mr. Qemal Minxhozi thanked the Minister Ahmetaj for the fraternal reception and expressed the readiness of Albania to support integration and economic and political development of Kosovo, not only in the region, but also in the international arena.
