Minister Ahmetaj launched EU fund 2018-2020 planning in the amount of EUR 250 million

Prishtina, 8 March 2017- The Minister of European Integration Ms. Mimoza Ahmetaj, opened today the coordination meeting with institutions of the Republic of Kosovo for planning of the IPA 2018-2020, in the amount of approximately EUR 250 million.

Minister Ahmetaj emphasized that: “;Our starting point for the multiannual programme IPA 2018-2020 shall be Government’s consolidated planning framework, based on priorities arising from the National Development Strategy, Economic Reform Programme, the National Plan for Implementation of the SAA and sector strategies. In the coming months MEI shall ensure that generous assistance provided by EU meets two main objectives:(1) implementation of obligations under the SAA; and (2) improvement of the citizens’ economic and social.”;

Sectors included in the IPA for this programming period are as follows:
-Rule of law;
-Agriculture;
-Energy;
– Competitiveness and Innovation;
-Education, employment and social policies; and
-Environment.

The value of EU funds for the entire period 2014 – 2020 for Kosovo is in the amount of approximately EUR 645 million, and programming of IPA 2014, 2015 and 2016 has been already completed, while IPA 2017 is in its final stage.
