March 6, 2019

Prishtina, 6 March 2019 – The same misinformation is disseminated for two days from the same source, with different portals. Former Secretary of the Ministry of Integration, Demush Shasha reactivates the misinformation of two days before, assuming Kosovo loses EU funds.

We published the clarification two days ago. For the purpose of properly informing the public, we request that you publish it again as a denial to today’s misinformation launched by Kosovapress, titled: In addition to the 43 million Euros, Kosovo risks losing another 11 million from the European Union.
Kosovo has not lost a single cent from European Union funds.

Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, among other things, reported to the Permanent Parliamentary Commission for European Integration for an increase of EU funds to Kosovo. Thus, not a single cent has been lost from these funds, this way disclaiming the speculations about the loss of funds.

With this clarification, we want to inform the public that Kosovo has not lost even a single cent from EU funds dedicated to the Republic of Kosovo, EU funds have actually increased and no way decreased.

With IPA 2016, Part 2, a Contract for Budget Support for Public Administration Reform was signed in the amount of 25 million Euros, while with IPA 2017, Part 2, a Contract for Budget Support for Public Financial Management was signed, in the amount of 25 million Euros.

Minister Hoxha also informed the Parliamentary Commission that EU funds for Kosovo have only increased: IPA 2017 has allocated 73 million Euros, IPA 2018 has allocated 90.5 million Euros, whereas IPA 2019-2020 has allocated over 200 million Euros.

In addition to IPA funds, Kosovo also benefits funds from the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), stated Minister Hoxha, only in this round of application, round 21 of application within WBIF: the value of infrastructure projects exceeds the amount of 250 million Euros, construction of wastewater treatment plants, drinking water plants and water collectors in Kosovo’s large and small centres exceeds 400 million Euros.
