Incumbent Minister Reka had a telephone conversation with the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Rainner Wieland

Prishtina, 23 April 2020 – Being unable to hold the meeting planned in Brussels, the incumbent Minister of European Integration, Blerim Reka, had today a telephone conversation with the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Rainner Wieland.

Incumbent Minister Reka informed Mr Weiland about the health emergency situation and the measures taken by the incumbent Government in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, while thanking him for the European Union’ assistance to Kosovo given so far, including the latest assistance approved by the European Commission, that of the EUR 100 million macro-financial assistance package for Kosovo.

During the conversation they also talked about the support given by Mr Wieland and European parliamentarians regarding Kosovo’s European path, with special emphasis on visa liberalization.
Further, incumbent Minister Reka asked the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Rainner Wieland, that he and other Euro-parliamentary friends continue to be the voice of Kosovo in this important EU institution, especially now when the last persuasion of hesitant states is needed to lift the visa regime for Kosovo citizens.

In the end, Mr Wieland reaffirmed his and European parliamentarians’ support to Kosovo, in particular on visa liberalization and on our country’s European perspective, promising continued support to Kosovo in its European integration process.
