Europe Day, commenced in Mitrovica, with the meeting that Minister Hoxha held with students

Mitrovica, 7 May 2018 – Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, on the occasion of marking the Europe Day, held a meeting with students of University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica where she discussed about the importance of this day and about the integration objectives of Kosovo.

 

Minister Hoxha was hosted in the meeting by Rector Alush Musa with associates, academic staff and students of this University. After speaking about her connection with Mitrovica, Minister Hoxha thanked the participants for the discussion about the topic of European future, the role of education in the future and their prospective as students.

 

“As far as our future is concerned, this is already defined. With the entry into force of the SAA we have already made the first official step towards the European Union integration process. The pace with which we will join the great European family depends to a great extent from us, from the institutions of this country, but also from you”, said Minister Hoxha, by adding that also EU institutions and states play a significant role.

 

The opportunities for learning have never been greater and in here apart from the information technology, I am talking about applying for scholarships and for studies abroad, said Minister Hoxha, by pointing some of them, and emphasized the Erasmus + project which has offices in Prishtina where on daily basis receives students and informs them on applications for short-term exchange as well as complete master studies.

 

For 2016 and 2017, Erasmus + has conducted short-term exchanges for the staff and students who have benefited from this program. Altogether were 974 staff members and students from Kosovo who went to EU countries as well as 460 foreign students who came from EU countries to study or obtain academic experience in Kosovo, as well as 16 full-time students in master program.

 

In the end, Minister Hoxha invited the students to jointly dedicate themselves to the future and to develop the country and thus integrate Kosovo as soon as possible in the Euro-Atlantic structures, as this is our only future as a nation, as an individual or even as a region.
