North Mitrovica, 28 September 2017 – Ministry of European Integration and EU European Cultural Centre held an informing session in North Mitrovica, whereby was presented Kosovo’s approach in the framework of the program “Creative Europe”.
Flamur Salihu, Head of Communication and Information Office, talked about the consulting process with the civil society, businesses and public institutions, which resulted with the selection of some programs, which Kosovo is about to gain access to. At the beginning of the year, a series of public discussions took place and also an analysis of experiences in the region was conducted, whereby four programs were identified where Kosovo shall gain access, which are considered to have more absorbing capacities such as: Erasmus+, COSME, Creative Europe and Europe for Citizens.
Florim Canolli, Director of the Department of Development Assistance, explained the process of application of organisations qualified to take part in the program Creative Europe. It was specifically emphasised the importance of early application, starting with the establishment of the partnerships between organisations of different countries, in compliance with the criteria of calls for proposals.
It was also announced that it is expected that by the end of the year, a Technical Assistance project, funded from EU funds, will be launched, which shall assist public institutions in the process of coordination with applicants to apply to these programs.
Among those present were students, civil society organisations and artists, which were very enthusiastic about this opportunity and required additional details in order to be ready for application, at the beginning of 2018. In the following period, the Ministry of European Integration and the EU Office shall organise various information activities on the EU programs, so that the citizens shall be prepared for application in EU programs with their activities.
