Deputy Minister Statovci – Demaj presented the IPA 2015 financial assistance amounting to EUR 78 million

15.11.2016 Prishtina– Deputy Minister Anila Statovci-Demaj, presented before the Committee for European Integration of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo the Draft-Law on ratification of the Financing Agreement for the Instrument of Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) 2015. The members of the Committee on Budget and Finances were also present in the meeting.

The Financial Agreement for the Instrument of Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) 2015 has been prepared and agreed in advance between Kosovo’s and EU’s institutions, with the aim of funding 16 projects in the amount of EUR 78 million by the EU, and a co-funding by Kosovo in the amount of EUR 3 million.

The program is, for the first time, based in the new approach of supporting sectors under IPA 2, whereby it focused on the following three main sectors:
– Rule of Law,
– Energy, and
– Agriculture and rural development.

In addition to these sectors, in a more horizontal assistance, will also be supported the European integration process and alignment with EU legislation, as well as the needs for funding that result from the political dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

After today’s review, the Draft-law shall be sent for review in the plenary session of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.
