During his visit in Slovakia Deputy Minister Ilazi had meetings with representatives of the parliament, government, civil society and media and has held a public debate on the topic “Kosovo Challenges in the path towards the EU: the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and relations with non-recognizing countries”.
During his presentation, Deputy Minister Ilazi expressed the gratitude of the Republic of Kosovo to the people and Slovak state for the support to the Kosovo’s European perspective, requesting for this support to continue, especially for the visa liberalization process and the signing of the SAA.
Deputy Minister Ilazi has also informed the participants about the latest developments in Kosovo, especially with the outcome of the dialogue process for normalization of relations with Serbia and the reforms taken by the Government to meet the conditions for visa liberalization. Deputy Minister Ilazi reiterated the request of the Kosovo Government for establishing a Liaison Office of the Government of Kosovo in Slovakia.
Exchanges between Kosovo and Slovakia, assisted and facilitated by the civil society, namely KFOS, have proven that communication and direct exchange between people from the two sides directly affects on building of the new impressions on post-war Kosovo and recognition of the achievements.
Chairing the European Union by Slovakia during the second half of 2016 was also a central part of the program.
