April 7, 2016

Prishtina, April 7 2016 – Minister of European Integration Mr. Bekim Çollaku today held meetings with ambassadors of European Union countries with whom he discussed about the process of visa liberalization for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

In separate meetings, he received the Ambassador of Belgium in Sofia, non-resident for Kosovo Ms. Anick Van Calster, Finnish Ambassador Ms. Anne Huhtamaki and the head of the Slovak Liaison Office in Kosovo Mr. Lubomir Batary.

Minister Çollaku announced before the European diplomats that Kosovo has fulfilled obligations in relation to the visa process and that now the citizens and the institutions are awaiting a decision that would allow visa-free travel for all Kosovars in the states of the Schengen area.

“We expect the support of the EU states in these crucial moments in terms of visa liberalization and we are also grateful for all the support offered so far”, said Çollaku
