Department of EU Law
1. Duties and responsibilities of the Department of EU Law are:
1.1. Legal support to organisational structures of the ministries in implementation of their tasks related with the EU Integration process;
1.2. Coordinates and supports the process of legal approximation evaluation of national legislation with acquis communautaire, in cooperation with Office for Legal Service Assistance and line ministries;
1.3. Offers support in preparation of the methodology, planning and preparation of a National Version of the Acquis communautaire.
2. Head of the Department of EU Law reports to the Secretary-General.
3. This Department has the followingDivisions:
3.1. Division of EU Legal Affairs; and
3.2. Division of Acquis Communautaire Translation and Terminology.
4. The number of employees within the Department of EU Law is seven (7).
1. Duties and responsibilities of the Division of EU Legal Affairs are:
1.1. Supports the process of legal approximation evaluation of national legislation with acquis communautaire;
1.2. Offers legal support to MEI, line ministries and to the negotiation teamfor the negotiation, implementation and interpretation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement;
1.3. Offers legal support to MEI, line ministries and to the negotiation team in accession negotiations;
1.4. Offers legal support to the line ministries in preparing priorities for Annual legislative program based on European Partnership Action Plan, Annual Commission Progress Report, SAA, etc;
1.5. Offers legal support on the acquis communautaire during the process of EPAP preparation, and maintains respective database;
1.6. Offers legal advise concerning interpretation and implementation of EU law for the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, as required;
1.7. Cooperates with the Committee for European Integration in the Assembly of Kosovo on legal approximation and harmonization.
2. Head of the Division of EU Legal Affairs reports to Head of Department.
3. The number of employees within Division of EU Legal Affairs is four (4).
1. Duties and responsibilities of the Division of Acquis communautaire Translation and Terminology are:
1.1. Manages and coordinates the process of translation of Acquis Communautaire;
1.2. Manages and coordinates the process of expert and legal revision of the translated legal acts of the European Union;
1.3. Provides unification of procedures related to the process of translation of Acquis Communautaire;
1.4. Maintainsdatabase for terminology and monitors data for the translation process of Acquis Communautaire;
1.5. Offers support to the creation of the methodology for usage of unified terminology in the preparation of national legislation;
1.6. Maintains close relationship with all relevant national actors, international actors and EU institutions in the process of preparation of the national version of Acquis Communautaire.
2. Head of the Division of Acquis communautaire Translation and Terminology reports to Head of Department.
3. The number of employees within Division of Acquis communautaire Translation and Terminology is two (2).
