Prishtina, 20 October 2017 – In the government meeting held today, Minister Dhurata Hoxha presented the annual donor report, where the total assistance amount for 2016 is 174 million Euros.
Data indicate that the sector which received the largest assistance in the aspect of disbursed funds is: Governance and Civil Society with more than 57 million Euro or 30% of development assistance provided in Kosovo in 2016.
Other sectors which received significant assistance include Water and Waste Water with 24 million Euros, Education with 17.6 million Euros, Infrastructure and other Social Services with 10 million Euros and Business and other Services with 9.5 million Euros.
The biggest donor remains European Union, which is reported to have had contributed with around 61 million Euros during the reporting period. The second biggest donor is United States of America, with 33.6 million Euros disbursed, and followed by Germany with around 19 million Euros disbursed during the same year.
Also, municipalities have been financially-supported, where total funds allocated for 38 Kosovo municipalities amounted to 52.7 million Euros.
Minister Hoxha thanked all donors for their assistance provided tor institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, which assistance is being used for reforms and further development of institutions and our country, and also stated the need for best possible coordination of donors in order to reflect towards Government priorities and fulfillment of Government work plan.
