Strasbourg, 23 October 2017 – Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, met with Mr Johanes Hahn, EU Enlargement Commissioner, on which occasion they discussed the Kosovo integration agenda.
Minister Hoxha emphasized the progress made in many areas, as the rule of law, economic development and good neighbourliness.
Minister Hoxha has requested support from Commissioner Hahn especially in the field of economic development, with special emphasis on help for young entrepreneurs that would have an impact on job creation.
“;The Stabilization and Association Agreement is our common success, so we consider that the process needs to be accelerated to focus on fulfilling adequate reforms and the Government of Kosovo is committed to meeting the SAA obligations. Minister Hoxha also stressed the importance of the conclusion of the visa liberalization process and the free movement of citizens.
Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn has reiterated his stance on the European perspective of Kosovo. He emphasized the importance of implementing the European Agenda for Reform and the implementation of the SAA.
Commissioner Hahn confirmed the support for Kosovo and its European perspective as well as the support for Minister Hoxha in efforts to streamline the integration process.
