During the meeting, MIE introduced the draft contribution to the Progress Report 2014.
Participants agreed on the progress achieved in the fields as follows:
Agriculture and Rural Development – it was confirmed the progress made upon the approval of the Administrative Instructions and various Regulations. Regarding the policies, the progress was confirmed in programming the measures for 2014, approval of the Management Plan for Forests and Forest Inventory. Also, it was confirmed the implementation of projects in the field of irrigation and Local Action Groups. In relation to institutional development, progress was made in the establishment of the National Council of Wine and the accreditation of Wine Laboratory. In terms of professional capacity building, progress was achieved the participation of a significant number of MAFRD and FVA officials in various training in the field of agriculture and food safety.
Food Safety – progress was made in the field of legislation and policies upon the adoption of Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures, as well the approval of the National Plan for Official Controls and Monitoring of Animal Health. Also, progress is made in appointing of the Management Board and Scientific Council of the FVA and accreditation of the Laboratory of Food and Veterinary.
The contribution to the Progress Report will be formally submitted to the European Commission on 2 May 2014. This will constitute the first contribution of institutions for 2014, meanwhile the second and final contribution will be submitted on 1 September 2014.
