Prishtina, 1 December 2016 – Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo approved today the Draft Law on Ratification of the Financing Agreement for IPA 2015 between Kosovo and European Union.
Program of Pre-Accession Instrument (IPA) 2015, and financing agreement for its implementation, has been prepared under the direction of the Ministry of European Integration and previously agreed between Kosovo and EU institutions, for the purpose of funding 16 projects in the amount of 78 million Euros from EU and with e co-financing of 3 million Euros from Kosovo.
The program is for the first time based on the new approach of support for sectors within IPA 2 (IPA for period 2014-2020), and on this occasion has been focused on three main sectors:
– Rule of Law;
– Energy; and
– Agriculture and rural development.
In addition to these sectors, the European integration process, legal approximation with EU and funding needs resulting from political dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia will be supported as a more horizontal support.
